Happosai is disappointed in both Genma and Soun and chucks them out of his school, finding a baby girl called Hotaru with large ki potential to train to be his heir instead. Genma develops his own martial arts the yamasenken and the umisenken into a formidable style and trains Ranma. 16 years later Ranma meets Hotaru and they quickly become friends, enjoying a nice even fight much to Happosai and Genma’s disgust.
